Our latest Sexcapades challenge was to watch porn together, which was a hit or miss for our couples. The good news is that with an internet connection and a computer it’s pretty easy to try at home so why not give it a go! This was not our greatest experience ever. We didn’t have great porn and trying to watch the TV and have sex wasn’t exactly easy position-wise (somebody always ended up facing the wrong way)! Looking back on it, we think mutual masturbation while watching porn would have been a better route. We are all for doing it again but will have to find hotter material to work with.

It became clear that Husband didn’t understand the concept Sexcapades Bucket List. He continued asking if we could re-do last week’s challenge this week! This week was not so successful because we were both self conscious about it. I was looking forward to trying this and liked the excuse of saying it was part of the bucket list, but his response when I told him this is what we were doing this week: ‘I need porn if I don’t have you, if I have you, what is the point?’. Then I felt shy about choosing what we would watch. I do wish we could have just relaxed and enjoyed it. Maybe a drink or two would have been helpful. I would like to try it again, he doesn’t seem interested.

I like porn when he is travelling or if he isn’t in the mood. I know it is the same for him, but the problem we had is that we like different kinds of porn and what he liked didn’t turn me on and what I liked didn’t turn him on. We ended up each choosing a short video and each of us was turned on enough that it lead to great sex.

We’ve done this before and find that it’s a good option if one of us is in the mood but the other isn’t. After a few minutes we are both usually ready to go! This was recommended to us when we were trying to conceive because we needed to have sex every day during the time when she could get pregnant but neither of us has that level of libido. Really, I think she liked whatever turned me on the most. She had also never seen lesbian porn and definitely enjoyed that. I pretended like I had never seen lesbian porn and also pretended to ‘discover’ it.

Ooooh this one is interesting! When I was a bit younger and not yet fully comfortable with my own sexuality I would have liked someone to give me this challenge as an excuse so that I didn’t feel perverted for suggesting the idea myself! I’m way past all that now and while I still find porn sexy (c’mon, how can you not be turned on by seeing other people have sex?) it no longer has the same impact on me as I have had enough interesting experiences on recall that feel much hotter since they were real, rather than taking place between actors. One thing I still think works is using it as a way to communicate what you want by showing your partner. When we got in bed and did this challenge, the issue was finding something that we both liked. His choice would be something more hardcore, typically involving a bouncing bottom while my preference would be more sensual stuff with beautiful people having gorgeous sex that I know feels good as it looks good. (I know damn well that girl bouncing up and down is not going to have an orgasm like that!) I do enjoy a little porn if I’m on my own with my hands. I don’t really see the need to do this because neither of us need it to get things going, but we could totally see the value if that was a problem, or if someone was feeling lazy and needed some incentivization.
