Well hello there! Today we’re sharing our couples’ reactions to ‘Read Erotica’ as part of the Sexy Bucket List challenge they are completing (and I’m sharing with you!). This was a great challenge because it’s an easy way to crank up erotic energy (remember, it’s not just about sex!). It’s low commitment, easily accessible, and possible to try together or separately. Interestingly, the girls enjoyed the challenge more than the guys, which was a first for the Bucket list challenges so far! The sexiest thing I’ve ever read before this was probably a recipe for Salted Caramel Ding Dong Cake. I honestly didn’t even really know that this was a ‘thing’. I did enjoy it very much and I would do it again. Husband read two stories to himself while I was seated across the room and I wish I could have captured his changing face as he read– he alternated between laughing to faces of disgust and shock.

First we tried reading the story out loud together but it had the opposite effect because we both felt ridiculous saying raunchy words out loud (it did give a good laugh though!). We gave it a second try by reading it on our own and it was much better. This is something that is better experienced read to oneself. He thinks erotica is not targeted to dudes. Overall she enjoyed this and he enjoyed that she was so turned on, so he would be happy to do it again too.

I’m more of a visual guy so I prefer porn more, but this was still enjoyable. She sent me the link on the way to work, but I waited until later to read it so that I didn’t end up uncomfortable and stranded. From her: I read a couple of stories that were obviously aimed towards men (one sentence focused on women’s pleasure?) but then I finally found one that was good.

I loved this challenge. After our failed experience watching porn together, we decided to read the erotica separately. We both were very turned on and it resulted in great sex. It’s a little like pornography, but much better and less gross feeling imho. Looks I’ve just found a new interest! Also, I like that this leaves so much to the imagination.
